3M Clarity Aligners

3M Clarity aligners are another orthodontic treatment aligner type that we offer here at Brooks Orthodontics. These aligners offer a discreet, comfortable, and removable treatment choice that many of our patients have been satisfied with! They can provide orthodontic treatment in mild, moderate and severe cases and can achieve the same results as traditional metal braces.

FAQS

3M Clarity Aligners are a type of clear aligner system used to straighten teeth. They are made from a clear, durable material and are custom-designed to fit each patient’s teeth, providing a nearly invisible alternative to traditional braces.

3M Clarity Aligners gradually move teeth into their desired positions using a series of custom-made, removable aligners. Each set of aligners is worn for about 1-2 weeks, depending on the orthodontist’s instructions, before progressing to the next set in the series.

3M Clarity Aligners are effective for treating a wide range of orthodontic issues, including mild to moderate crowding, spacing, and some bite problems. However, more complex cases might require additional treatment options, such as traditional braces or a combination of treatments.

The length of treatment varies depending on the complexity of the case. On average, treatment can take anywhere from 6 to 18 months. Your orthodontist will provide a more accurate estimate based on your specific treatment plan.

For the best results, 3M Clarity Aligners should be worn for 20 to 22 hours per day. They should only be removed for eating, drinking (anything other than water), brushing, and flossing.

It’s recommended to remove the aligners before eating or drinking anything other than water. This helps prevent staining and damage to the aligners. After eating, brush your teeth before putting the aligners back in.

There may be a short adjustment period when you first start wearing the aligners, during which you might notice a slight lisp or difference in your speech. However, most patients adapt quickly, and any speech impediments typically resolve within a few days.

Clean your aligners by gently brushing them with a soft toothbrush and lukewarm water. Avoid using toothpaste, as it can be abrasive and scratch the aligners. You can also use a specialized aligner cleaning solution if recommended by your orthodontist.

If you lose or break an aligner, contact your orthodontist as soon as possible. They will advise you on whether to move to the next set of aligners or to wear a previous set temporarily while a replacement is made.

Typically, you’ll need to visit your orthodontist every 8 to 12 weeks to monitor your progress and receive new sets of aligners. The frequency of visits may vary depending on your specific treatment plan.
