Braces work by applying continuous pressure over time to slowly move teeth in a specific direction. The brackets are bonded to the teeth, and an archwire is threaded through the brackets to guide the teeth’s movement. Regular adjustments are made to tighten the wire and ensure the teeth are moving properly.

It is very important to maintain good oral hygiene during the duration of your braces. There are special brushes used to clean around orthodontic brackets and wires. A water flosser is highly recommended to help flush anything stuck in hard to reach areas. As well as floss threaders to stay on top of flossing to keep your gums healthy!

Typically, orthodontic appointments are scheduled every 4 to 8 weeks to adjust the braces and monitor progress. The frequency of visits may vary depending on the treatment plan.
